Parents as Teachers
The Seymour Parents as Teachers program is a voluntary, free program for families residing within the Seymour R-II School District. Services are available beginning during pregnancy and continue until a child enters kindergarten.
Parents as Teachers helps parents better understand how their children grow, learn, and develop, while providing support and resources to help children reach their full potential.
The program offers:
- Personal visits with a certified parent educator
- Group connections and family activities
- A parent resource center with materials and resources to support learning and development
- Yearly developmental screenings to monitor children’s skills and identify areas where additional support may be helpful
